RIP Satoru Iwata

I know, this isn't my best work, but I really wanted to draw something for this man. I know I didn't include all of his games.

Iwata's health had been poor for a while, but no one expected this to happen. When this news came around last night, I wasn't crying, but I was upset. It's weird...I didn't cry, but working on this made my heart sink and I felt choked up. I was listening to this while drawing it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecdYeR…. 

This man basically created my childhood. He helped develop the game boy and DS. He created games that I, and many, still play to this day. I would not have gotten into video games if it were not for him and the game boy and I would not have gotten into Pokémon nor create my Nuzlocke series. Heck, I wouldn't have gotten into Kirby or Mario! He was one of the many people that revolutionized the gaming industry. He wanted video games to be fun.

You really learn about someone by looking at their creations. It makes you wonder what the creator was like. I never really knew him, but judging from his games he helped develop, he seemed like a fun, generous, and funny man.

May he rest easy.
